The TPMS system on the 2016+ Smart ForTwo and ForFour is to be quite frank, next to useless! It doesn’t actually tell you which tyre is low, its always throwing fault alarms and because of that if one of the sensors fails there is no simple way to even work out which sensor it is.
If the system has a fault you’ll be stuck with an error light on the dash which is an inevitable MOT failure which can become a costly repair.
Disabling the TPMS with DD4ALL
There are two modules that need coding changes to disable TPMS:
- The Dashboard Cluster Cluster_X07_V4.1 [your version my differ]
- The Body Control Module (BCM) T4_VS_BCM_DDT2000_SW13_5_5_5 [your version my differ]
To update the cluster, navigate to: Cluster_X07_V4.1 > Ecran Configuration TdB > Config Vehicle
Then change the TPMSPresent_CF value to 00b = Without TPMS
To update the BCM, navigate to: T4_VS_BCM_DDT2000_SW13_5_5_5 > TPMS System > TPMS System – Configuration > TPMS_RECEIVER_PRESENT
then Change the TPMS_RECEIVER_PRESENT to 0
